The history behind that pic:
Our first cat was an arrogant, stubborn and vengeful Persian emperor who always rather pissed on the tiles in the cellar than in his cat litter tray. We loved him though and thought cats just are like that. Eventually, he died after a long life.
We spent two years without an animal until we were 'free' for another cat. We found out that in a village close to ours they had kittens and wanted to give them away when old enough. The night before we drove there I dreamed of a small tortoiseshell cat. I had never seen one with these colours before and only knew of that pattern with rabbits.
The next day we went there and there was a small, clumsy tortie among them. It was the smallest, slowest and most awkward of that brat pack and despite all these characteristics I said that we had to take her or none, since she’s come to me in my dreams already to get her her new home.
So she came with us when the time had come.
And I can say that we love her and she loves us. It is a cat and got her own will and thus I feel even more honoured when she chooses to jump on my bed to fall asleep there from time to time before I get up in the morning. When we gather in the living room she comes with us and lies down on the carpet or whatever softer place she can find to sleep there or just watch the world.
I know that one day in the hopefully far future she’ll not be there anymore. And I know that I will cry my ass off for her when that day has come.
Since, to be honest, I wouldn’t have the heart to bring her to a taxidermist then for a piece of fur or more I have been looking for something which will remind me of her. It may seem odd to some people now to get that while she’s still here but I have my reasons, like it also is a way of helping me to not fear that day so much.
That all said, this is Dandy and Dandy.

Disclaimer: To relieve anybody’s worries: That cat on the left had a lovely life with an old lady who survived the cat and got her stuffed. Later, that lady died too and the person from whom I got it got the cat in the course of that estate sale.
That cat on the right still has a good life with lots of love and care.
